Each question from Gavin made Andrew's face grow even darker.
"Dad, our car!" Little Sam's eyes widened angrily as he shoved Gavin hard.
"You bad man! Give us back our car, and stay away from my mom!"
But Gavin, an adult, wasn't about to be pushed around by a tiny kid. He looked down at the little boy, a half-smile playing on his lips. "Little one, don't go around calling every woman 'mommy,' okay?"
Sam was startled and immediately hid behind Susan, clutching her arm tightly, staring wide-eyed at Gavin. "Mom, this bad man is bullying me! You said you love me the most, why won't you help me scold him?!"
People around were already throwing curious, gossiping glances their way. Susan could already guess what the X trending topics would say tomorrow.
She took a deep breath, expression cold, and looked at Andrew. "Andrew Feynman, please take you and your son away. I'm working now. Do you want me to be on the hot search and get bashed again tomorrow?"
Andrew panicked and hurriedly tried to explain, "No, Susan, I don't mean to"
"Brother, you'd better leave quickly. My temper's not as good as hers." Gavin's smile turned icy.
Even Andrew knew he had no advantage here. He couldn't get a word out, only took his son and left in a taxi.
Susan finally exhaled in relief. Gavin's voice softened as he reassured her, "Don't worry. I've already stopped the reporters. There won't be any trending topics tomorrow."
In Los City, no one dared publish anything without Gavin's permission.
Susan was genuinely grateful. "Thank you."
Afterward, Gavin called for a tow truck and cleaning crew to clear the mess, then went back to the set with Susan. On the way back, Susan finally asked, "Gavin, why did you come here today?"
Gavin walked beside her, leisurely and calm, smiling as he said, "Just bored, thought I'd check on my mom's work."
Susan didn't quite believe him. Gavin didn't seem like someone who'd just kill time like that. But she didn't press. That was adult respect. If Gavin didn't want to say, she would just pretend she knew nothing. After all, Gavin was not someone she could afford to offend.
Director Yvonne wasn't surprised either when Gavin came by, they both quietly pretended not to know each other.
Gavin's tone was a little helpless as he turned and looked at Susan with a pleading expression. "My mom doesn't like using privilege. She doesn't want her career connected with the Feynman family. So I can only say I came to visit your set, can that work?"
Hearing his slightly aggrieved tone, Susan, out of respect for Director Yvonne, couldn't say no.
That afternoon, Susan only had one scene and wrapped filming early. Gavin really waited there for hours. When she finished, he walked over and said, "Miss Cooper, may I invite you to dinner?"
Susan was startled, thinking Director Yvonne must have sent him. She didn't think much and agreed. But when they arrived at the restaurant, she found it was just the two of them.
Gavin had booked Arc again, the place where they'd eaten together before, this time a private table for two.
Once seated, Susan casually ordered starter and an entree. After the waiter left, she caught the deep smile on Gavin's face and felt her heart skip a beat.
She took a deep breath and got straight to the point, "Mr. Feynman, is there something you want to say to me?"
Gavin remained calm and composed, showing no nervousness. His brows lifted slightly as he smiled and asked, "Why do you say that, Susan?"
Susan looked at him steadily and said calmly, "Mr. Feynman, you're deliberately getting close to me. There's no way I wouldn't feel it."
Gavin gave a small hum, nodded, and with a joking tone said, "If I tell you I like you, Susan, would you believe me?"
